Blankets & Beetroot

My big mitred-square blanket is finished!

This is one I made in the summer, then put the squares away and forgot about them.
I think that's enough blankets for now!

Visiting IDPs in their shepherd's hut.
A very basic home, but such warm and welcoming people:

I've discovered on visits that walnuts in tea are really good!

Happy times hanging out with neighbours:

 The weekend market.
Hot beans and beetroot are our favourites!

Our noisy new rooster- Henry VIII
(he has 6 living wives who are very good at providing us with eggs):

A visit to the park with our neighbours.
We taught them French skipping and boules and they loved it!

Fun and games at karate:

We finished our history timeline and took it down from the wall
(Tigris was pretty interested in it):

I also took down our India project.
We're studying Around the World in 80 Days for Geography and study each of the different
countries Phileas Fogg passed through on his epic journey:

In Science we're studying fossil fuels and experimented with how oil is extracted, using a bag full of water and straws!

It's sometimes so hard getting enough school done. The main reasons are power cuts and visitors. When K gets home from morning school a selection of her friends sometimes come too and some can be a little distracting!
