More and more people in our city are now making the most of empty lots of land here and there (of which there are many) and using them to grow vegetables or keep chickens and beehives. It's just what is needed in this flagging economy.

The empty land opposite our house has been taken over by various neighbours and is now looking wonderfully green and fruitful:
