Abram believed the LORD
and he credited it to him as righteousness.
Genesis 15.6
Dale Ralph Davis points out that Abram believed the LORD, not so much the promise. Yahweh was the object of his faith. We shouldn't be overly worried about faith itself...how much do we have etc? "Teach us not to fret over the intensity of our faith, but convince us that even a weak faith may lay hold of a strong Christ."
