Flabbergasting Grace

Thank you Dot for letting me know there's a second book on the Psalms by Dale Ralph Davis, as well as The Way of the Righteous in the Muck of Life.

The Lord looks down from heaven

    on all mankind

to see if there are any who understand,

    any who seek God.

All have turned away, all have become corrupt;

    there is no one who does good,

    not even one.

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins.....Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath.  But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Ephesians 2.1-5

And so we confess what we might call the 'flabbergasting-ness' of the gospel....Christians must never forget where they came from, that they were 'children of wrath, like the rest of mankind' having no hope and without God in the world (Ephesians 2.3,12).
