Lockdown Photos

We're now in week 5 of lockdown. The rules seem to be loosening (which is more nerve-racking in a way as people have got fed up of being indoors and now might not be very careful). We had a 60 hour chunk of not being allowed to leave the house and police trucks coming round blaring on their loudspeakers that if you go outside you'll go to prison. For the most part though we've been allowed out for basic necessities. After 3 weeks of not leaving the house (Jerry has been our shopper) we have loved taking walks around the neighbourhood, enjoying the Spring greenery and flowers. People don't really get social distancing so we've found it's best to go out in the morning before everyone is up and about. We've been invited in for lunch and coffee by lovely, friendly neighbours who don't quite get it! But would I want to live in an unfriendly place? Definitely not!

The time has actually been flying by which I've been surprised by. We've been doing school, except for a week off over Easter, as well as keeping up with lots of people on the phone and Bible studies on whatsapp and Zoom. Here's some of the things we've been up to:

Katie and I made bunting for her room to make it look more girly!
(She shares with Jonny and it's always been a bit of a boy's room)

I knitted this blanket for Katie- she choose the colour combos as I knitted!

It has been fun being more adventurous with cooking. I even made a chicken pie!

Our NGO (Step-In) neighbours started a corona cooking scheme which Jonny loved joining in with.
He made them this cake (complete with their logo) in return for some amazing food they made for us.

Instagram memories- those were the days when we could go
and play with the newborn lambs!
Something we miss this year.

Rose is teaching herself the guitar and having a competition with another friend to see who learns fastest!

Our neighbours have put up a climbing wall on the side of their house!

Beautiful Spring flowers

We love living on the edge of town meaning we can get out into beautiful green spaces
 within minutes from our house

Carpet cleaning time

Easter
We loved Easter, quite surprisingly. Normally we don't because not a lot happens but we had more time to make an effort this year and we loved joining in the Enfield livestream.

"Jesus is Risen!"

Celebration dinner on Easter Sunday: burgers and potato wedges

Katie's Easter garden
Easter craft

Easter reading and Resurrection Eggs

Family Bible times using Resurrection Eggs

Another lockdown blanket! I hope I won't be able to knit too many more!

BBQ on the roof

PE with Joe
So fun to join in with so many others from around the world
and very grateful for Kurdish minimal furntiure homes to have space to exercise in!

My annual haircut done by Rose. She has now done everyone in our family apart from Jerry!
(Yes, she managed to cut her own hair and cut it quite short!)

Bird collage art project from Twinkl.co.uk

When you're in lockdown you might as well give yourself freckles with henna!
When they faded a bit they really suited her!

Lots of games of Upwords!

Newroz Eve, joining in with neighbours lighting a fire on our roof
