Impossible to Govern

Deuteronomy: Loving Obedience to a Loving God (Preaching the Word) by [Fernando, Ajith]
When [the king] takes the throne of his kingdom, he is to write for himself on a scroll a copy of this law, taken from that of the Levitical priests. It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to revere the Lord his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees.
Deut 17.18,19

Can you imagine having a leader of a country like this? Let's pray for a huge change in our leaders:

Ajith Fernando:

[He told a] story about Abraham Lincoln who was traveling in a train: Someone in his compartment heard some groans coming from his cabin, and he peeped in to see what was happening. He saw Lincoln on his knees, with an open Bible in front of him, reading it and praying. The minister said that is the kind of leader Sri Lanka needs—people who are driven by their religious principles.

If religious principles come from the Creator of the world, they should be considered indispensable for a meaningful life in any society. Lincoln said, “In regard to this great book, I have but to say, it is the best gift God has given to man. . . . But for it we could not know right from wrong. All things most desirable for man’s welfare, here and hereafter, are to be found portrayed in it.” George Washington said, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.”"
