Christmas 2018

This year was our ninth and by far the best Christmas we've had in K'stan. Each Christmas looks different, this one was definitely the busiest with the most activities going on. It started with a nativity play we put on for a group of ladies and children in a fellow expat's home, and continued with various get-togethers for locals and expats and a lot of carol singing, helped on by some talented musicians. It was a lot of fun having close friends come to stay from a city further south and we are so thankful for the friends in our city who are more like family now!

On Christmas Day we had lots of guests over to wish us a "Happy Eid". It was a lovely time catching up with locals and enjoying the woodburner. Some guests stayed for half an hour, some three. There was a lot of roasting of chestnuts and marshmallows going on; and games of backgammon and pictionary. I was very thankful to R&L for being such great hostesses, freeing me up to chat to the guests.

J has been kept  busy chopping wood for the woodburner.
This activity always attracts a gaggle of boys!

On Boxing Day we spent a quiet day in with some friends. We enjoyed imported treats, games, jigsaws, It's A Wonderful Life, pizza, the woodburner and power cuts!
