The Explorer by Katherine Rundell is the latest book I've read to the children. We loved it. It's about four children who get stuck in the Amazon jungle when their plane crashes and their attempt to survive and find their way out. One of the girls starts off as quite an unpleasant character but the children develop in their relationships with each other and learn to trust and rely on each other in order to survive. We learnt some new things about jungle life which was interesting. There were some expletives in the book which I left out as I read.
