Karate Roadtrip

The week before we left for the UK we drove 5 hours south for a regional karate championship. R&L were representing their club. It was a fun two night stay in another city with other karate club families: a great way to develop relationships with them. The drive was looooong but the scenery was really beautiful. 

At this time of year pick-ups piled high with watermelons are a common sight.




Ducks & Drakes (aka skimming stones) is played the world over it seems!

I was really  proud of the girls. They were having to cope with being in a big competition not knowing how it all worked (information is never very forthcoming in K'land!), in a very noisy hall not speaking their dialect of K but another one from further south and add into that using the Japenese of karate!




A stop-off on the way home for tea, trampolining and sampling locally made sweets (and the discovery of a  dead turtle):
