Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land?

Christians must be people of the truth. Jesus taught that Satan “is a liar and the father of lies” (John 8:44). That is why Peter told Ananias that Satan had filled his heart. When we speak falsehoods, half-truths, or even shaded truths, we do not reflect the glory of the One who is “the truth” (John 14:6); we instead reflect the image of Satan.
