Warrior

Lift up your heads, you gates;
    be lifted up, you ancient doors,
    that the King of glory may come in.

Who is this King of glory?
    The Lord strong and mighty,
    the Lord mighty in battle.
Psalm 24.7,8

I am so encouraged reading this. The LORD is still mighty in battle as he was in Exodus 15.3, "The LORD is a warrior: the LORD is his name." Sometimes it feels as though God has changed- he is in control, we believe that , but we also think of him as more passive than he was. NO! God has never ceased to be a warrior.

Dale Ralph Davis:

 I plead with you not to allow those who only want to speak of a ‘Jesus-meek-and-mild’ to rob you of the manly, virile comfort of having a God who is mighty in battle. Jesus, the King of glory, will come as a warrior at the last (Rev. 19:11-21) and, thankfully, how often He also ‘comes’ in the midst of our current troubles to bash to bits the fetters of the enemy and to take up the cudgels for His weary and crushed people. You have no comfort if the King of glory is a wimp who reeks of hand cream; you only have solace if he is your Defender in the thick of war.
