I'm slightly struggling this year with Science curriculum for L (11) and J (9) due to our Science course being stuck in America (down with the Kstan Blockade!). But I'm thankful for two 'living science' chapter books (Charlotte Mason-style) I've found which all three of us (and K too when she's not at school) have enjoyed and learnt a lot from. It makes me even more thankful for my Kindle which enables me to make up a course as I go!
The children loved drawing each constellation from this book, spotting them in the sky map and hearing the stories from the Greek myths of how the constellations got their names.
This chapter book is all about Galen (100s A.D.) and how medicine developed during and after his time. It's always a hit to have a book to read which includes the Gladiators and all things Roman.
Next up in my 'make it up as you go along' science course: mystery science lessons.
(See Home School for more curriculum ideas.)
