Christmas

This year was our 7th Christmas here! We're thankful for friends who help to make it so special when it's a time we particularly miss family and friends from far away. We had friends from church over for brunch then in the afernoon and evening local friends came over to wish us a "Happy Eid". I'm very thankful for R who loves doing the serving and gets all the snacks and drinks organised in the kitchen which means I can get on with sitting and chatting to the visitors.

We had friends to stay before Christmas and the children put on their own Nativity play (complete with Frosty the Snowman)

The children and their language helper made this alternative Christmas tree together
Star of the brunch- a nutella tree made by a talented friend

Brunch guests

On Boxing Day we had a quiet family day which was lovely. This year the children requested a 'proper' Christmas lunch (rather than pizzas like last year). It was pretty 'proper' minus the turkey, parsnips, sprouts, bacon, brandy butter etc etc!

Christmas PJs!

The next day we enjoyed a hike up a hill with friends:

Being shown the cave where the shepherd dog had given birth 5 days ago to 9 puppies!
