Saturday Catch Up

I love Saturdays- we try to keep them as a day off. The children are all watching the Paralympics so I'm going to make the most of the time to blog some photos from the past couple of weeks.

The children's language teacher and K's favourite person!
We've been learning about India in school.
We made saris/turbans and did traditional face painting.

We visited a refugee family living in a school.

Their mud houses were really impressively built.
J's birthday
Sometimes you just have to wait for the sheep to cross the road in front of you.
Dates for sale
Play dough with friends. This is always popular a popular activity, especially with refugee children.
J and his friend A are always play fighting each other
K and her friend E love doing jigsaws together.
R turned 12. J made her a cake
R and L put on a birthday tea party for ladies from church.
L made this cake!
Our local park: one of the very few places with green grass!

We went to the early morning Friday market which they hold at the bottom of a mountain.
It was packed full of people and animals. You could buy geese, chickens, turkeys, pigeons, rabbits etc there.

We bought 2 rabbits for L's birthday present

A visit to friends who had just bought a sheep ready to kill for their Eid sacrifice next week
