Easter Sunday

We had a really wonderful Easter Sunday this year. We started the day with the final stage of Resurrection Cookies which worked this year! (See directions) We spent time celebrating with expats, then locals and continued the food distribution to refugee families living in concrete shell homes near our house. We met 6 new families who invited us back to visit them.

Resurrection Cookies- the tomb is empty, Jesus is risen!
This family had 33 people living under one roof. They showed us photos and video footage from the ruins of their house in their town which has been destroyed by allied bombing. They were very rich before they fled which made their situation seem worse in some ways.
We visited a shepherd family in the hills. They were looking after over 400 sheep and gave us 2 bottles of fresh sheep's milk

We visited a traditional Christian family and were given eggs dyed with the dye from a root.
Just before Easter we taught the refugee girls who come around a lot how to sew simple drawstring bags. They were so happy with the final result and I was so proud of them!
